Rights of children

Saturday, May 14, 2011

Khat by Hamdi Ibrahim Abdul BakiWhat are the rights of wife, children on the man.

Praise be to Allaah.

1 – The wife’s rights:

These have been discussed in detail in the answer to question no. 10680

2 – The children’s rights.

Allaah has given children rights over their parents just as the parents have rights over their children.

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: “Allaah has called them abraar (righteous) because they honoured (barru) their fathers and children. Just as your father has rights over you, so too your child has rights over you.

Al-Adab al-Mufrad, 94.

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, according to a hadeeth narrated by ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar,
“… and your child has rights over you.”

[Muslim, 1159].

In Islam, why dogs are considered impure animal

In Islam, why dogs are considered impure animal?

All creatures are the creation of Allah Ta'ala and do deserve the recognition of being a creation of the Almighty. As much as Muslims detest even the sight of pigs - it is the creation of Allah Ta'ala - and because Allah has placed life into it, we cannot inflict pain nor torture the pig. Similarly Allah Ta'ala created the dog from among His creation. This does not mean that we should love the dog. It is perhaps the indoctrination of the Western culture that 'The dog is Man's best Friend'.

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Imam Muhammad Zahid al-Kauthari (1371 A.H; Cairo), formerly the Deputy Grand Mufti of the Ottoman Empire, explained in his article on “Hijab al-Mar’ah” ( “Women’s Hijab”, meaning to cover her body completely with loose clothing, not the modern misconception of the hijab as a “head scarf”):

The difference between taking the kaafirs as friends and seeking theirhelp

Praise be to Allaah.

Taking the kaafirs as friends (muwaalaah) means supporting them and helping them in matters of kufr, such as the Muslims fighting alongside the kuffaar, such as when the kaafirs launch an assault against a Muslim country and a Muslim befriends them and supports them and helps them in fighting against that country, whether that is with weapons or by supplying them with anything that will help them to fight the Muslims. This is muwaalaah, or a type of friendship that is haraam,

Eating foods prepared by a kuffaar for their festivals

Friday, January 21, 2011

Is it permissible for a Muslim to eat the foods that the people of the Book or the mushrikoon prepare for their festivals or accept such foods if they are given on the occasion of their festivals?
Praise be to Allaah.

It is not permissible for the Muslim to eat foods that the Jews, Christians and mushrikoon make for their festivals. It is not permissible either for a Muslim to accept such things that are given to them on the occasion of their festivals, because

Inviting non-Muslim political leaders to address in the mosques

Is it permissible to invite non-Muslim political leaders to address Muslims in the Musaajid?

It is not permissible to allow even Muslim politicians to address the jamaat in a Musjid. The Musjid is not established for the stupidities, baatil and kufr which the politicians pedal. Allowing a non-Muslim into the Musjid is a sin of an aggravated nature because a non-Muslim is always in the state of janaabat. He is ritually impure, hence admission to the Musjid is haraam. Even ritually impure Muslims may not enter the Musjid. If a non-Muslim wishes to visit a Musjid to see how Muslims worship, he may enter if he agrees to take a full bath (ghusl) as Muslims are required to do when purifying themselves from janaabat.

Perjalanan Syaikh Abu Hatam rah.a

Monday, January 17, 2011

Sebagaimana diceritakan oleh Abu Abdullah Khawas rah.a –salah seorang muridnya-. Katanya, “Suatu ketika kami pergi ke daerah Raye bersama Syaikh Hatam rah.a.
