Imam Ja'afer Al-Sadiq is the central Imam of shias. Most of shia teachings, (almost 90%) are based on his narrations and that of his father, Imam Baqir rahimahumullah. The shia fiqh is named after him and is known as Fiqah Ja'afariyah.
Imam Ja'afer's mother and Imam Baqir's wife , Umme Farwah rahimahallah, was the great-grand-daughter of Abu Bakr As-siddeeq radhi Allaho anho maternally and paternally:
-Umme Farwah rahimahallah's mother was , Asmaa bint Abdul Rahman bin Abi Bakr.
-Her father was Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abi Bakr radhi Allaho anho.
Just as Imam Jaa'fer Al-Sadiq is a descendent of Rasoolullah sallallaho alaihe wasallam through Hazrat Husain , so he is a descendent of Abu Bakr radhi Allaho anho from his mother's side.
This is why Imam Ja'afer rahimahullah once said,
"Just as I am hopeful in the intercession of Hazrat Ali, I am twice as much hopeful in the intercession of Hazrat Abu Bakr as he given me birth twice."
So, imam Ja'afer Al Sadiq rahimahullah and the five subsequent imams (of shias) are all as much descendents of Hazrat Abu Bakr radhi Allaho anho as they are of Rasoolullah sallallaho alaihe wasallam.
