He who deceives is not from us

Nasihah (Advice): Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (Radiyallahu Anhu) reports that the Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

“He who deceives is not from us” 

[Musnad Ahmed, Hadith #: 7290]

Question and Answer:

Q. There are hotels that offer discounts for bookings done by pensioners with the condition that the pensioner is the one who will stay at the hotel. Can I as a non-pensioner make an arrangement with the pensioner to do the booking at the discount so that I can stay there?

A. Since the discount is reserved for pensioners only, it will not be permissible for you as a non-pensioner to benefit from this discount. This is considered as deception and is therefore not permissible.
