  1. In the 1940s, psychologist William H. Sheldon introduced the concept of categorizing the human body into distinct types. Here are the three body types and what they mean:

    1. Ectomorphs are naturally thin, so their fitness goal isn't to lose weight, it's to gain size and muscle. They can consume high levels of carbs with no negative effect because of a speedy metabolism and high carbohydrate tolerance.

    2. Endomorphs tend toward thickness and are sometimes overweight. The most common fitness goal is to lose body fat. People with this body type will have to work harder than others to lose weight due to a slow metabolism and low carbohydrate tolerance, which means it's harder to process dietary loads of carbs.

    3. Mesomorphs are usually muscular and athletic. Typical fitness goals are to build or maintain muscle mass and a low body-fat percentage. These body types have a fast metabolism and moderate tolerance for carbohydrates. Instead of doing cardio every day, they may only need it a couple of times a week.

  3. For the movie, Warrior, Tom Hardy had to get into the shape of his life to play the character of Mixed martial arts fighter Tommy.

    Hardy used an unorthadox training method to bulk up fast. his trainer said “Throughout the day you need to send constant signals to your body, so that it adapts in the direction you point it in. It’s better to do 10 press ups every hour than 100 in a single burst. If you do things often enough, your body adapts for the task you set it, and you evolve.”

    These exercises four times a day – when you wake up, at lunchtime, when you get home from work/school and before bed. It should only take about 20 minutes, but don’t rush. Use light weights and move slowly through the exercises, concentrating on perfect form. Start by doing it in the morning and evening, and then gradually add the other sessions in. If you want to pile on muscle as soon as possible, you’re going to have to get used to working out little but often. “Remember,there are no shortcuts.”

    The real culprit? High frequency, high-load #abdominal and #oblique training.
    I once worked my way up to performing 160-pound #dumbbellcrunches for 2 sets of 20 reps, and 160-pound #dumbbellsidebends for 2 sets of 20 reps, multiple times per week.
    I developed what I call "Ninja Turtle Belly." My #abs and #obliques were huge and it negatively impacted my physique.
    Bodybuilder Branch Warren's #abs looked their all-time best after he won the Arnold Classic.
    When asked what exercises he did to improve his #abs, he said he simply quit training them so they'd shrink and appear tighter on stage.
