Question and Answer:

Q. My sister recently got divorced and she is in iddat. Can she come with us for family functions and when we go out?

(Query published as received)

A. She should remain within the confines of her home during the Iddah period and she cannot go out without necessity. She will be sinful for leaving the home unnecessarily. Visiting family and going out for leisure during the Iddah is not permissible.

And Allah Knows Best
